A battle is the best way to describe this regatta with over half the field of competitors in real contention for the final two qualifying spots.  The sailors also battled the wind and waves out on the course Sunday as strong steady winds overnight stacked up some waves for the boats to battle through.  One rotation in the race committee strongly advised drysuits be donned by those lucky enough to have these necessities.  Several schools dropped out as the boats battled it out on the water. In the end the conditions also took there toll on Villanova with a couple of knock downs keeping our score just a bit too high to hang on to a qualifying birth.
